No Longer Slaves to Sin

Sin.png

“For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin— because anyone who has died has been set free from sin (Romans 6:6-7).”

When you accepted Christ sin no longer had reign over you because you died to yourself and welcomed in a new life. The result is you now have power over sin, power over the things that are in opposition to the will of Christ. The Apostle Paul acknowledged it in such a way that he pursued Christ; “That I might know Him, and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death (Philippians 3:10)”. Paul wanted to fully understand what it meant to be "set free".

It was Christ’s death on the cross that freed us from the penalty of sin. Now it is up to us to walk in that freedom we have been given a freedom that grants us a life not to walk as we please but to walk as servants pleasing to God. May we as Paul pursue Christ that we may be like Him!
