Just One Moment

“In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.”“At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke. “Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty.” Isaiah 6:1-6Isaiah’s vision of God left him frightened and awestruck. He had come in contact with the Creator, the Holy God, the Lord Almighty. His reaction was one of reverence, honor, and acknowledgement that he was unworthy to even be in His presence. It was the right attitude when coming face to face with a holy God.Our encounters may not be as profound as that of Isaiah but our response should be the same. King David recognized the Omnipotent God and considered it as he observed everything that He had created:“what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? You have made them a little lower than the angelsand crowned them with glory and honor. You made them rulers over the works of your hands;you put everything under their feet (Psalm 8:4-6).”In the creation of the world, the beauty of the seasons, the birth of a child, the unexplained healing of the infirmed, He reveals Himself through the Bible, through the love of others, and through His Holy Spirit.Every time we enter into worship we have the opportunity to encounter the Almighty God. Isaiah’s encounter changed his life and It is an experience that can change yours too!
