Joy in Doing His Will
“You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.” (Acts 2:28)
In life we make choices and some of those choices are good and some not so much so. It is Jesus who makes known the way we should go and there are times it looks differently than what you may have planned for your life.
When Jesus came, He had a specific purpose, “to do the will of the Father (John 6:38)” and He did just that. He became the sacrifice for our sins and those sins were paid for by His blood. His path included rejection, scorn, hate, wrongful conviction and crucifixion. He had periods where He agonized and experienced great suffering and pain but He followed the path set out for Him and we are called to do the same.
Life’s journeys are often filled with the unexpected and the occasional mishap but if you follow the path God lays out for you, you will find that even in the direst conditions you can experience joy and that joy comes from knowing God is with you.
“Once you become aware that the main business that you are here for is to know God, most of life’s problems fall into place of their own accord.” – J.I. Packer
