Imitate Christ
“Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us (1 Peter 2:12).”
“Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery” or so it has been said. It is what we are called to do “imitate” Christ but not to be lauded or seen as someone special but to be an example of Christ in behavior and in action. It would be easy if you didn’t have to endure suffering, pain, sadness, and grief but imitating Christ is living and experiencing just that. However bear in mind that while He suffered He also demonstrated strength and power and that strength is inherent in us as well for His strength is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Not everyone will go through the same sufferings of Christ but we are all called to share the same love of Christ, to be imitators of HIm. Live lives such that even when accused of doing wrong, your good deeds glorify God.
