His Desires
January 31, 2019Prayer, meditation, and fasting are all spiritual disciplines that help us to know Christ in an intimate way. Their effectiveness requires time spent in His word. His word teaches you how to pray, how to meditate, and the importance of fasting. In prayer you get to talk to God, meditation is focused on God’s word, and fasting demonstrates a reliance on God. Each provides an occasion to know Him better and in knowing Him you will find that His desire becomes your desire. It is (or should be) a daily desire to know Christ, yes,“to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death. (Philippians 3:10b)
Nothing in life is more rewarding nor brings more joy than a life lived in full awareness of the presence of God.“I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay. You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.” Psalm 16:8-11©2018-2019 Mamie Johnson Ministries
