He Gave Us the Best
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
You can’t talk about love, godly love, without reflecting on John 3:16. This scripture answers the question, “why did God send Jesus.” It is a powerful scripture and clearly explains God’s intent when He gave His son as a sacrifice to save others, to save us!
John 3:16 is an expression of the depths God would go to so that no one would perish. It is a gift of love, love that can’t be found in a nicely wrapped package, or under a beautifully ornate Christmas tree. It is found in the hearts of those who receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
“God doesn’t love us because of our worth, we are of worth because God loves us.” (Theologian Martin Luther)
