Goal Setting
“If someone else thinks they have reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more: circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; in regard to the law, a Pharisee; as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for righteousness based on the law, faultless …“I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, (Philippians3:4b-6;10)
We’re almost three weeks in so how’s it going? Are you on the path to meet and complete the goals you set for 2021? And if not, why not?
The Apostle Paul had a goal but his goal wasn’t mapped out by his dreams nor desires but by the Lord Himself. In fact in this brief scripture he clearly states it’s not about anything he has done but there was a higher power calling out to him and nothing he’d done or could do under his own power would measure up to the purpose God had for him.
Paul’s goals were God honoring and everything he’d done after his encounter with Christ on the Damascus road was to draw him closer and closer to Christ.
If you’re struggling to get back on track, ask yourself; “Are my plans God honoring”? “Does it draw me closer to Christ” and “What steps have I taken to ensure I finish what I started”? A goal that is God honoring is a goal worth achieving!
