Filled With His Holy Spirit

“Moses was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights without eating bread or drinking water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant—the Ten Commandments.” Exodus 34:28

Moses had a special relationship with God, yet he understood that his relationship did not mean he could approach God without exercising deep respect and humility. Moses fasted in approaching God going without food or water for an extreme length of time. Moses choice to abstain from food or drink isn’t necessarily an act for us to follow but to demonstrate the need to reverence and worship God.

Through this Lenten season, there are many ways to demonstrate respect, reverence, and humility to a Holy God. So don’t look at your sacrifice(s) as deprivation but as a time of filling of His Holy Spirt so that you might receive direction and His desire for you.
