Favor with God
“Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need (Hebrews 4:14-16).”Priests are important to the church. They provide spiritual leadership, are the head of the body (the church), shepherds the flock, and is a teacher, a mediator and a spiritual warrior. Jesus is our High Priest and who better to provide for guiding God’s church, His people than He. After all, He dwelt with us in human form demonstrating the power to overcome temptation, suffering, and the struggles common to everyday life. He is our help and it is His abiding presence that assures us that there is nothing we face that can’t be overcome if we have faith in Him. What a great benefit to be called children of the Most High God.We have an advocate, HIs Son, who not only demonstrated His power in His humanness but also gave us that power through the indwelling presence of His Holy Spirit. It is because of His compassion and love for us that we have been granted unmerited favor to confidently approach Him knowing that He is faithful and trustworthy and that He hears us when we pray and call out to Him.Approach the throne of God knowing that He forgives, is compassionate towards us, has given us unmerited favor, and will be with us in our time of need.Join me tomorrow May 7,2020 designated as the National Day of Prayer at 12noon EST (via my website mamiejohnsonministries.org under events or via my Facebook page) as we lift up our prayers and petitions to God!
