Dress for Success
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience (Colossians 3:12).”
Many of you may be familiar with the saying, “dress for success”, but what does that mean in the life of a Christian. Since man looks on the outside appearance but God looks at the heart, the clear answer would be, dress on the inside so that it reflects what’s on the outside.
As chosen people of God, we should wear the attributes of our Father. It’s much like saying, “respect the family name”. As people of faith, wherever we go, it should be clearly seen who you belong to with or without introduction. We are chosen, the elect of God, and that means we have the capacity and hopefully the desire to emulate the characteristics of our Father. These are big tasks but made possible through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit all we need to do is draw on that power.
So, put on those new clothes; clothes of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. They really look good on you!
