Don't Stop Praying

"Never stop praying. Give thanks no matter what happens. God wants you to thank him because you believe in Christ Jesus. Don't put out the Holy Spirit's fire. Don't treat prophecies as if they amount to nothing. Put everything to the test. Hold on to what is good." 1 Thessalonians 5:17-20In prayer we seek God but when He doesn’t answer in the manner we think that He should we ignore His response walking away confused, frustrated, and uncertain if He is really there. Our motivation in prayer is to seek the will of God. Unfortunately we may say we seek His will however we must examine our motivation in prayer. If your prayer should cause you to error chances are God will not give you what you want so you walk away head down and despondent. But thank God that He doesn’t always give us what we want because it could pull us away from His will and lead to a path of destruction. It’s hard to hear but if you are truly inclined to accomplish His plan you accept His response and the direction that God gives you. But don’t think that God doesn’t hear you; He does; “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer,” (1 Peter 3:12a). Paul said, “ Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer” (Romans 12:12).God’s response is never slow. He hears our prayers the moment we utter them. Whether His response is immediate, delayed or no, it is our unwavering confidence in Him that gives us hope. “And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him” (1 John 5:14-15). Never get weary in prayer.
