Don't Quit
“Never give up! Failure and rejection are only the first step to succeeding (Jim Valvano).” “No one has ever drowned in sweat (Lou Holtz).” “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step (Lao-tzu).” These are markers that hang from the ceiling of my gym. Mile after mile this signage serves to push you, to encourage you, to help you, to teach you to never give up and they work. On the days I feel like I can’t take another step just seeing those signs, those words of encouragement motivate me to keep going. And so do the scriptures. When facing tough tasks we need encouragement and encouragers. We need someone who believes in us and is willing to provide support. Sometimes its with encouraging words and other times it could be in mere presence where no words need to be spoken, just knowing they’re there can influence ongoing belief that we can do it. The Apostle Paul espouses we “can do all things through Christ who strengthens” us.No task, no goal, no purpose is insurmountable when God is near, cheering you on, telling you that you can do it, that He won’t leave or forsake you, that His promises are true, that He keeps His word. “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:10).”
