Blessed to Give
In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:35).’ ”
Putting yourself in someone else’s shoes is a great way of developing empathy. When you’re looking at another’s life with your lens you tend to see from your perspective and experiences. But when you put yourself in the place of others it is an opportunity to gain empathy and understanding. This is also referred to as “cognitive empathy” which is basically, “stand in my shoes”. It’s understandable why we often shy away from, empathy because it causes pain. But Christians should never be apprehensive to lend a hand, to weep with those who are weeping, to care, to simply give what you have or do what you can. Giving in this way we demonstrate understanding in the blessing of giving.
