Be Righteous

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled” (Matthew 5:6).

A number of years ago an American pastor and Bible teacher by the name of Warren Wiersbe wrote several books entitled “The Be Series”. These books emphasized the importance personal application to biblical texts can provide guidance to living a godly life. As I considered this series of writings, isn’t that what being a Christian is all about? Being shaped into people who live by the principles and teachings of God’s word? And we simply aren’t capable of doing this on our own.

The bible is an instruction book of sorts. Instruction manuals are one of the most important documents provided to customers. Their purpose is to ensure that you get the most out of the product when you put it together properly. And that is what the Bible is, an instruction manual teaching us what it means to live a life pleasing to God.

If you really want to know what it means to live for Christ and to live lives that are pleasing to God, you really have to read the book!
