A Prayer for the Children

Children are headed back to school and whether you are a mom, dad, grandparent, uncle or aunt we want them to be covered and protected. Things aren’t as they use to be where you didn’t think about any harm in a place where children go to gain knowledge but things have changed. This doesn’t just apply to our younger children but our college age students as well. So as people of faith let’s join together with me in prayer to God for their safety and protection:Most Holy Father,You’ve given us these little one’s to nurture and guide. We remember the first day we held them in our arms and gazed into their little faces and felt the anxiety of having to bring these precious little one’s, these gifts, up in a world where trouble and mayhem are all around. Under our protection we felt they were safe yet we knew the day will come and would come when we will have to let them go to grow to learn and to experience how to navigate in this world. In our anxiety you told us we could cast our cares on You because You care for us (1 Peter 5:7). We ask you to ease the pain and anxiety we feel as we let them out into the world and to refrain Satan’s attempts to destroy. We also pray for their teachers, the instructors those who have been assigned to educate them and have endeavored to protect them as well.Lord we ask that our children gain wisdom and to raise them up to be people who love and honor You who seek You and are led by You. We realize that our influence is for a little while and a time will come when they will seek to pull away from our grasp but give them hearts that they will never want to pull away from Your grasp. You have purposed their life, please guide them to the road that leads to everlasting life. You are our Fortress our Shelter, our Rock strong and mighty, a place of security and refuge our hiding place from all danger and it is You we place our trust. In complete humility and confidence we submit this prayer to You!Amen“How excellent is thy loving kindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.” Psalm 36:7
