Happy Hour
It’s the end of the week and a time to pull away from the rigors of the work week to rest, rejuvenate regroup, refresh, and renew. Whether you’re getting caught up on housework, completing long overdue tasks, preparing for the week ahead, it’s clear you need a day of rest. Yes, you got away from that 9-5 but there are more tasks that await you. Friday night was and may still be time for happy hour. A time to take a moment and have a few drinks and light fare with friends. Doesn’t it seem interesting that it is called happy hour when in fact you are bringing all of the frustrations you’ve experienced all week to receive temporary relief? Maybe it should be called “the numbing hour”. A time where you can become desensitized to all of the headaches and senselessness you dealt with all week. God has a different method of rejuvenating one’s spirit:“Truly my soul finds rest in God;my salvation comes from him.Truly he is my rock and my salvation;he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.”Psalm 62:1-2Just a word from the Lord can make you feel better, uplift your spirit, and revive your soul. Now that’s what I call “happy hour”!
