Will of God Saves

“When Jesus had finished saying all these things, he said to his disciples, “As you know, the Passover is two days away—and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.” Matthew 26:1-2

Jesus spent His last days teaching. The disciples had seen miracles, and now the harsh reality of God’s plan was about to ensue. Why did Jesus say “as you know”? Did they think He would somehow save Himself, thwart God’s plan?
