The Gift of Grace

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.”  Ephesians 2:8-9When someone does something nice for you, you may respond by giving him or her a gift as a way of showing appreciation and gratitude. Gifts represent the value you place on the relationship you have with the recipient. Today, when gifts are given there is an ideology that you should repay it in some way when there is no expectation for anyone to do so.God has given us a gift that can’t be repaid and it is His “grace”, God’s unmerited favor to us. Who can place a value on something that is priceless. Knowing that God extends this gift to us with no expectation of return is humbling especially realizing there is nothing that can measure up to its value.Instead of trying to repay God for this precious gift, why not share it with those you encounter, confirming the love that abides in your heart to draw others closer to Him. That is a gift that keeps on giving!
