Obedience in Fasting

“There, by the Ahava Canal, I proclaimed a fast, so that we might humble ourselves before our God and ask him for a safe journey for us and our children, with all our possessions. So we fasted and petitioned our God about this, and he answered our prayer.” (Ezra 8:21, 23)

Fasting is a spiritual discipline and it is one that Ezra exercised to demonstrate his devotion to God. He was bringing back those who had been exiled. They were on their way to Jerusalem and Ezra chose not to rely on the King of Persia for protection. He wholeheartedly put his faith and trust in God. It was this discipline of fasting that came from one whose heart was committed to God that God responded providing them safety for the journey. If you are looking for a breakthrough you need look no further than Christ, obediently commit your way to Him and watch and see Him answer your prayers. #Protection #alwayspray #worshipGod #fast #trust #trustGod #putfaithinGod #prayers #discipline #Godschildren #seethesonrise
