Love Your Enemies

”But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; (Matthew 5:44).”

They actively agonize you; they look for ways to destroy you, they find ways to harm you, they’re your enemies, forces who actively pursue ways to hurt or injure you and Jesus says, love them. Loving your enemies does not mean that they will love you in return but in loving them it may change them from enemies to friends. But just in case they don’t become your friend, the Lord will protect you so that they will not destroy you.

Christians are called to love not to hate and Christ was the greatest example because it was His love that led Him to the cross and it was on that cross forgiving those for what they’d done to Him that His love was exemplified.

Loving your enemy is a hard task but a task we have been called to do.
