It's Okay to Ask

“Then the LORD said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on.” Exodus 14:15It is not uncommon to seek God for help and occasionally we will have times where we cry out to God. When the Israelites were led from Egypt, out of captivity, they faced great obstacles. God used Moses to lead them from slavery, from oppression, to freedom. Moses had a direct encounter with God, an ongoing relationship that included an experience with a burning bush, a miracle in the parting of the Red Sea, given the Ten Commandments, as well as other signs and wonders. The Lord knew Moses “face to face (Deuteronomy 34:10)”. Notice it was Moses that had the encounter with God. The children of Israel did not know the God of their fathers so Moses was their way of accessing Him.You may not get a burning bush nor experience some of the monumental tasks such as Moses but you too can have an encounter with God. You can see Him in creation, in the birth of a child, in the way He works in the lives of others through healing, deliverance, and restoration.Today we don’t have Moses instead we have God’s ultimate gift, the Deliverer, Jesus the Christ the very Son of God. Who better to make intercession for us than the One who sits at the right hand of God? He hears us when we call out to Him: “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, He hears us.And if we know that He hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of Him (1 John 5:14-15)”.“Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift (2 Corinthians 9:15)!”
