He Is Still With Us

“Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.” John 20:17

Mary was so excited to see Jesus, and her natural reaction was to grab hold of Him. But what does Jesus do? He tells her don’t. Why wouldn’t He understand her excitement to see Him again after seeing Him crucified? Jesus wasn’t pushing her away but was letting her know that, although He would not be with her physically, He would be with her in spiritual presence after He ascended into heaven. That is when He would send His comforter, His Holy Spirit. Let this remind you that Jesus is as close to you as He was with Mary when she held onto Him, but now it is in Spirit. Jesus is Real!
