Fearless

“No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.  Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them.” (Joshua 1:5-6)

It takes courage to believe you can do something that frightens you. You may recall the story of the Wizard of Oz and the fictional character “The Cowardly Lion.”. Lions are supposed to be fearless, kings of the jungle but it was his fear that made him appear inadequate. Notice I said, “appear inadequate.” He didn’t realize the potential that lied within him.

We have the ever-abiding presence of God’s holy spirit abiding in us so we need not fear. We can boldly face whatever lies in front of us knowing that it is God’s spirit that rises up allowing you to defeat anyone and anything that God has purposed.

So, as the Lord told Joshua, “be strong and courageous, because you will...” you will accomplish what God has purposed for you!
