Anticipation

Do you remember the song by Carly Simon “Anticipation”? The lyrics go something like this; “Anticipation, anticipation is makein’ me late, is keepin’ me waitin’”? When you’re anticipating, (e.g., expecting, looking), for something to occur there are feelings of excitement and possibly nervousness. You want it to happen but it’s hard to contain how you feel and you are all over the map with emotion. Christmas is like that, waiting for Santa Claus and the expectation that all that you wanted will be lying under the Christmas tree. But there was a greater gift that didn’t come under the tree but, you know that already.
