An Unending Christmas

“Let your eyes look straight ahead;fix your gaze directly before you.Give careful thought to the paths for your feetand be steadfast in all your ways.Do not turn to the right or the left;keep your foot from evil.”Proverbs 4:25-27“It’s the most wonderful time of the year”, or so they say and if it is, why is everyone hurried and stressed during this time of the year? The immediate response would be “focus”. Christmas is celebrated to remember the birth of Jesus Christ. Unfortunately attention is being given to things other than its intended purpose. This is important because when you remove the objective other things can distract you. Distractions are frustrating and exhausting. It is no wonder many suffer from depression and anxiety at the holiday’s end. So what can you do? Fix your eyes on Christ! Our affections can draw us away from God. The things that occupy your mind and your time have great influence on how you see things. If your faith is not sound, you can become vulnerable to those affections and before you know it void of spiritual strength giving in to outside influences.Fixing our eyes on Christ strengthens us and helps us to see the really important things and they are not materialistic. Who we are, what we do, why we do it, all stem from our love and commitment to Christ the one we celebrate on Christmas day. When you set your eyes on Christ with minds that seek to follow after Him, Christmas will never end.
