A Compelling Heart
“When Jesus heard what had happened, he withdrew by boat privately to a solitary place. Hearing of this, the crowds followed him on foot from the towns. When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick (Matthew 14:13-14).”
The heart of Christ is compelling. When Jesus touches your heart you can’t ignore it, you’re led to do something. Whether a homeless person on the street or a parent trying to provide for their child, the heart of Christ can never ignore nor walk away from someone who is hurting or in need. Even with danger looming (John the Baptist had just been beheaded), Jesus could not ignore that there were people who needed Him. He couldn’t simply walk away nor should we. A heart for Christ can change the world.
A heart that is touched by God can’t ignore the needs of others.
