Jesus First

As summer is drawing to a close many are getting back to a normal routine. Vacations are complete, children are back in school, and fitting in all of the many activities that take place requires discipline. You may also find that not only is your daily routine in need of a strict regimen so too your spiritual life.

Realistically, life is not stagnant there are often moving pieces and unexpected situations. Having to adjust based on the unforeseen is common. The same applies with your spiritual life. Getting back on track means taking deliberate efforts and actions to reconnect with your spirit. So where do you start? That’s easy, with His word:

Bless the LORD, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name!
Bless the LORD, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits,
who forgives all your iniquity,
who heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
who satisfies you with good
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

It is the word of God that revitalizes, strengthens, provides direction and hope, gives guidance, comforts, prepares, informs, and assures. There is no better way to start the day than with Him. It is a routine worthy of implementation.

It’s not just another thing to do but something that is worth doing.
