We’ve all made mistakes but it’s important not to let the mistakes prevent you from moving forward. Mistakes teach us what not to do as well as serve to teach and provide wisdom throughout our lives. There are various reasons for our error(s) in judgment. Whether from the lack of teaching or a refusal to believe that your decisions could have a negative impact on your future; mistakes can become great learning tools.
No one is perfect and mistakes are inevitable but God is gracious and abounding in mercy and willingly forgives us when we sincerely go to Him and seek forgiveness. Satan likes nothing more than for people of faith to be riddled with guilt and guilt prevents forward movement and stymies growth.
Don’t let past behaviors or indiscretions stop you from achieving your goals. Leave the past in the past but garner the pearls of wisdom you gained. Hear the words of the prophet Isaiah 43:18-19:
“Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.”
