“Where is the wise person? Where is the teacher of the law? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?  For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom,  but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles,  but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.  For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.” 1 Corinthians 1:22-30

I’m sure it is not news that there are quite a few people who do not believe in the presence of God. The bible addresses the believers and the non-believers and God’s goal is that all come to the knowledge of Christ and to that end, receive salvation through belief in Him.

Just as God is real, so is the devil and His mission is to negate anything and everyone who represents God’s presence and He is diligent in recruiting people into His camp. Is it harder to believe in the presence of God and easier to accept that there is an enemy of the cross who will do anything to keep you captive to his ideology? We confuse the power of the world with success and the less than successful as failures. That is not how God sees it. David was a shepherd boy before he became king, Gideon was from one of the smallest tribes of Israel, Esther was part of a harem before becoming Queen of Persia, Naomi was a disgraced wife and mother after the death of her husband and sons, but each rose to a place of prominence by the will of God.

Everyone has to decide for him or herself what and whom they believe in. When I see healings that defy medical knowledge, men and women born to abject poverty rise to places of influence and power, children who thrive and grow to be responsible citizens and loving parents in the absence of parental love, the eyes of drug addicts opened and receiving deliverance just by the word of God and the mention of His name, it is the power of God.

It may not make sense but to those who have been delivered, it is a life giving and a life lived in the presence and power of an ever present God! “For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.” 1 Corinthians 1:30
